Abstract
This textbook in Optical Character Recognizer and Its Creation focuses on techniques to develop optical character recognizer for Tamil. The book has four chapters, each one dealing with essential aspects of optical character recognizer for Tamil.
Chapter 1 presents a general introduction to optical character recognizer. Examples are given both from English and Tamil languages. General observations about linguistic features of human languages as well as features of some Indian languages also are offered.
Chapter 2 deals with aspects of optical character recognizer with focus on Tamil language. The chapter offers several techniques and steps to creating optical recognizer.
Chapter 3 focuses on the Google's Optical Character Recognizer for Tamil. Techniques that we should adopt and adapt to create optical recognizer facility for Tamil are discussed with examples.
Chapter 4 presents and discusses the optical character techniques to use for handwritten forms in Tamil.
This introductory textbook will be found very helpful for all who would like to master optical character recognizer techniques and through this to go beyond other related domains.
