Corpus Linguistics -- A Monograph in Tamil

CONTENTS
The present monography is written in Tamil and the abstract is given in English for wider users. It is an elaborated version of my work with the same subtitle uploaded in academia.edu and Researchgate. This monograph was lying in my lap since 2000. I could not find time to update it. Now the present one is an updated version.
The monograph contains nine chapters:

Chapter 2: Present Scenario of Corpus Linguistics
Chapter 3: Conceptual Classification of Corpora
Chapter 4: Generation of Written Text Corpus
Chapter 5: Text Corpus Processing

Chapter 10: Concluding remarks. This is followed by exhaustive references.
Chapter 1 General Introduction
This chapter contains a brief introduction, explanation about what is corpus, pre-electronic corpus: a brief survey, limitations of corpus, salient features of a corpus and the resurgence.
Chapter 2: Present Scenario of Corpus Linguistics
This chapter contains a brief introduction, details about written corpus and details about speech corpus.
Chapter 3: Conceptual Classification of Corpora
This chapter contains a brief introduction and details about the conceptual classification of corpora based on genere of text, nature of data, type of text and nature of application.
Chapter 4: Generation of Written Text Corpus
This chapter contains a brief introduction, explanation about size of the corpus, representativeness of texts, question of nativity, determination of target users, selection of time-Spean, selection of text types, method of data sampling, method of data input, hardware requirement, management of corpus files, method of corpus sanitation and problem of copyright.
Chapter 5: Text Corpus Processing
This chapter contains a brief introduction, explanation about frequency study, word sorting, concordance, lexical collocation, key word in context, local word grouping, word processing, tagging, lemmatization, annotation and parsing.
Chapter 6: Corpus in Language Technology
This chapter contains a brief introduction, value of corpus in language technology, corpus as a knowledge resource, for designing language technology tools, as a source for translating support system, as a source for human-machine interference systems and corpus in speech technology.
Chapter 7: Corpus in Mainstream Linguistics
This chapter contains a brief introduction followed by descriptions on corpus in lexicography, corpus in lexicology, corpus in formation of technical terms, corpus in grammar writing, corpus in semantic study, corpus in language learning, corpus in dialect study, corpus in sociolinguistics, corpus in psycholinguistics, and corpus in stylistics.
Chapter 8: Corpus in Machine Translation
This chapter contains a brief introduction followed by descriptions on the objective, lessons leant from history, the corpus-based approach, issues related with corpus based approach, generation of translation corpora and alignment of translation corpora.
Chapter 9: Potential Utilization of Corpus
This chapter gives the details about the potential utilization of corpus.
Chapter 10: Concluding remarks
